We are Ridgeside City Church

We are an embodied community who practices the way of Jesus, together in Yucaipa, CA.

What we believe

We hold to the historic teachings of Christian Orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.

We also subscribe to recent summaries of Christian doctrine as formulated in the LAUSANNE COVENANT & CAPE TOWN COMMITMENT

We endeavor to BE WITH JESUS, BECOME LIKE JESUS, and DO WHAT JESUS DID.

We gather on Sundays for worship and teaching. We scatter throughout the city during the week, having been sent into our communities to bring God’s kingdom in our city as it is in heaven.

Our Vision

To be an embodied community who practices the way of Jesus together in Yucaipa, Ca.

Our Aim

  • We are aiming to be people EXALT Jesus as the enthroned King of the entire world and therefore give him our highest allegiance over any personal, national, or political allegiances.

  • We are aiming to be people who EXPERIENCE the life-giving presence & transforming power of the Holy Spirt.

  • We are aiming to be a people who EMBODY the way of Jesus and seek to be deeply formed into his image for the sake of others.

  • We are aiming to be a people who EMBRACE the cross-shaped life of suffering, sacrificial service, and radical generosity.

  • We are aiming to be a people who EXPECT for the kingdom to break through into the brokenness of Yucaipa and to see God’s will done here as it is in heaven.

  • We are aiming to be a people who ELEVATE the poor, widows, orphans, foreigners, elderly, and the most vulnerable among us through acts of compassion and working for justice in our city and beyond.

  • We are aiming to be a people who ENGAGE kindly with the specific culture around us while intelligently holding firmly to Christian orthodoxy.

  • We are aiming to be a people who ENDEAVOR to be a part of a multiplying movement of disciples and churches

  • We are aiming to be a people who ENCOURAGE honest doubting and questioning and therefore seek to be a place where un-churched and de-churched people can explore and renegotiate their engagement with the historic Christian faith in a safe and loving community.

Pastoral Leadership

Zach and Jade Hafner met in 2017 while serving in partnered High School Ministries. They married in 2018 and have been actively involved in vocational ministry together ever since. Jade’s administrative and organizational skills have enabled her to serve in executive assistant and director roles across various churches and corporate settings. She is deeply passionate about hospitality, pastoral care, and counseling.

A transformative shift in 2012 led Zach from a life of substance abuse and partying in the snowboard community to pursuing pastoral ministry. Over the years, he has served in various roles at churches throughout Southern California, spending significant time pastoring high school and college students in Yucaipa.

His academic journey includes undergraduate studies at Calvary Chapel Bible College and graduate degrees in Applied Biblical Leadership and Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary. In addition to his ministry work, he has taught Bible and ministry courses at multiple higher education institutions and now serves as a Professor of Biblical Studies at Life Pacific University. Serving the local church continues to be a central passion in his life.

As a family, Zach and Jade enjoy outdoor adventures with their son, Paxton, and their husky, Granite. They also love creating a welcoming atmosphere by hosting people for meals around their table.
