Our Plan.

GATHER – Weekly gatherings are the primary way we will come together as an embodied church community to worship, study the scriptures, participate in liturgy, and partake of the bread and cup together.

SCATTER – We believe that we are primarily formed into the image of Jesus in a deeply connected embodied community around dinner tables and in living rooms rather than in front of a stage. Therefore, throughout the week, we will gather in “Open Table Communities” to live out the teachings of Jesus together. These communities are where we live as family to eat, pray, and share life together. They also function as our mission field, where we join Jesus' work in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and city.

SERVE – Followers of Jesus are called to become servants. We want to actively demonstrate self-sacrificial love by serving those both in and outside the church. It takes all kinds of volunteers to pull off planting a brand-new church. We are a family, and like a family, we all pitch in.

GIVE – We dream of becoming a church marked by radical generosity. Money is one of the resources needed for church planting, and we trust the Lord to provide through internal and external giving for the planting of Ridgeside City. From the very start, we will allocate five percent of all giving to our “Love Thy Neighbor” fund for global and local justice initiatives, and another five percent to support other church planting initiatives.

Our Measurements of Success

We will measure the strength & success of our community, not by the number of people attending worship gatherings or our financials, but rather by 7 specific areas of immeasurable metrics (The Holy 7) that show our community is functioning as a healthy and vibrant embodied community of the Spirit:

1. The growing means of participation in apprenticeship to Jesus and the living out of kingdom ethics among adults, teenagers, and kids.

2. The increasing numbers of healthy marriages & the decreasing amount of marriages in jeopardy of divorce.

3. The number of people who are committed to practicing the way of Jesus together with others in a committed weekly community.

4. The amount of concern for the weakest and most vulnerable in our community and in our city.

5. The amount of time those in our community spend around a table with those of different social, ethnic, political, cultural, & religious backgrounds.

6. The amount of those making public professions of faith in King Jesus through baptism.

7. The number of young leaders being trained as residents and the number of churches we are a part of planting.
